Variable or intermittent flow of liquid, especially water for hydraulically operated valves of a self-cleaning centrifuge, is supplied at constant pressure from a vessel containing a revolving centrifuge drum with an internal impeller revolving with it. The liquid is sucked through a pipe, coaxial to the drum and dipping into the vessel, and flows out axially on one side of the impeller into the centrifuge drum. On the other side of the impeller, an annular weir in the drum wall keeps the centrifuge head constant. The water is drawn off as required by a fixed radial guide plate, overlapping the weir radially, and leading to the outlet pipe.
|
