<p>PURPOSE:The titled composition, capable of producing heat to a high temperature only by contact with oxygen and controlling the heating temperature freely without pouring water thereinto, and comprising a hydrated salt e.g. an alkali metal sulfide, a carbonaceous substance, magnesium, etc. CONSTITUTION:A composition comprising (A) an alkali metal (poly)sulfide or a hydrated salt thereof, preferably Na2S.3H2O, (B) a carbonaceous substance, preferably carbon black, having a catalytic action, (C) magnesium and/or aluminum, preferably a particle size <=20 mesh, and if necessary (D) calcium oxide, preferably a particle size <=20 mesh, and/or (E) iron powder, preferably reduced iron powder or iron nitride powder of particle size <=300 mesh for obtaining a high temperature. The weight ratio of the components (A):(B):(C):(D):(E) is preferably 5-50:5- 50:3-50:10-70:60 or less. USE:Evaporation, e.g. smoking or fumigating, of an insecticide, a germicide, etc. by heat.</p> |
