The horticultural glass-house comprises a metal framework with roof and walls formed from double-pane (22,23; 22',23') plastics panels having the panes connected via cross-partitions (28,40) to form totally enclosed chambers between them. The edges of the panels are provided with couplings e.g. tongues and grooves, which permit the panels to be interconnected without rails supported at the ridge, the girders or the gutters. The tongue may have a widened head section (47) engaging the shoulders (31,32) of a widened groove portion to produce a dovetail-type joint. The tongue and groove sections may be dimensioned such that space is available for (thermal) expansion.
|
