In the preparation of thermoplastic compsns. from one or more polyamides and an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer and/or an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer and/or an ethylene-vinyl acetate-vinyl alcohol terpolymer, the components are combined by melting them together or mixing them intimately in the plastic state. A synergistic effect is obtained and compsns. have good resistance to solvents and to ageing. The compsns are used as coatings and adhesives.
