Title compounds of formula (I): (where R is H, lower alkyl, aminaolkyl, alkoxyalkyl, phenyl, phenylalkyl, pyridylalkyl, alkoxycarbonylalkyl, carbamoylalkyl anilino, alkoxy, dialkylaminoalkoxy, phenoxy, hydroxyalkoxy, alkoxyalkoxy or a group NR'R" which is a satd. heterocyclic residue opt. carrying a further hetero N-or O-atom; R1 is H, alkyl, phenyl or phenylalkyl; R2 is H or alkyl; and the benzene ring of the phthalazine nucleus and/or any phenyl groups in R and/or R1 are opt. substituted by alkyl, alkoxy, NH2, NO2 dialkylamino, carboxy and/or halogen; all alkyl and alkoxy groups being lower), which are antipyretics, anti-inflammatories, hypotensives, bronchodilators and respiratory stimulants, are prepared by reacting a corresponding compound of formula (II): (where X is halogen, alkoxy, dialkylaminoalkoxy, phenoxy, hydroxyalkoxy or NR'R") with an amine R1-NH-OR2.
