PURPOSE:To provide the correct image of the damaged part of the tool by a method wherein an image of the flank of the tool and an image of rake face image of the tool are separately photographed by TV camera and thereby they are combined with each other. CONSTITUTION:Lighting device 12, 13 are provided for lighting against the flank 2 and the rake face 3 of the tool 1 alternatively. Image taking device 19 takes a picture image signal from the TV camera 10 and converts it into a binary signal in response to a lightness or darkness of the images. Image processing device 20 outputs the rake face image taking signal and the flank image taking signal alternatively, and releases the shutters 14, 15 similarly, and adds them to the image taking device 19. Then, the picture image signals of the face of the tool 1 and the rake face image signal are taken separately and then the binary image data are produced. The image processing device 20 combines the binary image data produced from the taking device 19 and an overall image of the tool 1 may be provided. |
