PURPOSE:To insert the pipe in a short time and efficiently into a pipe plate, etc. of a heat exchanger by a method wherein when a pusher is in motion the pipe to be inserted next is allowed to stand by and the pusher is advanced just after it is restored. CONSTITUTION:A pipe 83 which is discharged one by one from a pipe supply device 76 is arranged on an arm 61 and then transferred onto a guide part 20 through a rectangular motion. The pipe 83 on this guide part 20, then, is advanced by a group of pawls of a portal pusher 3 moving on a lifting stand 2 and is inserted automatically into the pipe plate, etc. of the heat exchanger. While the portal pusher 3 moves forward, the pipe 83 is arranged on the upper surface of the arm 61 which has been restored upward and is transferred onto the guide part 20 at the instant the portal pusher 3 is restored to the initial state. |
