The coaxial cable has air gap insulation, where the outer conductor consists of a tubular bent metallic strip. The reinforced edges of the metallic strip are made to touch. The cable is used for high-frequency transmission and has disc-shaped spacers around the internal conductor at regular intervals. The reinforcement beads of each edge (3) are closely packed and displaced relative to each other. They are cup-shaped with a sinusoidal profile. The beads along each edge are made to mesh along the indentations. The edges are shaped by a continuous pressing process.
