<p>A clamping device for clamping a top plate (20) to a base plate (17) in such furniture as a table, a reception table or the like. A male molded piece (7) to be attached to the top plate (20) is engaged with a female molded piece (1) to be mounted to the base plate (17), and both pieces are clamped with a connecting rod (13) to detachably couple the top plate (20) to the base plate (17). According to the construction of this clamping device, the top plate (20) can be simply clamped to the base plate (17) and easily disengaged therefrom by an operation of a single step. Accordingly, this clamping device can be produced in a knockdown configuration, in which the top plate (20) and the base plate (17) are manufactured separately at a factory, and then assembled at any desired location in a simple manner. This is an advantage which was not previously available. </p> |
