Tube nest type heat-exchanger - has unions for medium flowing through casing formed in chamber wall extension

The heat-exchanger has a casing closed at one end and flange-mounted on a chamber at the other, the other end of the chamber being closed by a blanking flange. The entire cross-section of the chamber is occupied by a tube base, in which a nest of hairpin-shaped tubes are secured, pref. by rolling in. The chamber is divided, between the tube base ano the blanking flange, by a partitioning rib with inlet and outlet unions for the medium flowing through the tubes on opposite sides. A guide wall fitting in the base extends inside the curved portions of the tubes, and on opposite sides of it are inlet and outlet unions for the medium flowing through the casing. The wall (20) of the chamber (12) extends beyond the tube base (22), and the inlet and outlet unions (32,34) for the medium flowing through the casing are formed in its extended portion.
