The tap is assembled in a housing (1) with a spigot (2) permitting attachment to a washbasin or similar. The bonnet (27) pref. plastic, screws over the housing to enclose the cap components which are assembled segment shaped fashion in an axial bore (4). A cold water supply (6) is fed to the tap: part of this supply may be directed to a low pressure reservoir via an outlet (7) to allow a corresponding quantity of hot water to be fed to the unit (8). Mixed water is discharged along the coaxial drilling in the main spindle (3). The operating elements are two discs. The lower (14) is fixed, and the upper (18) control disc is turned by using the hand lever.
