The storage and coin collector is for automatic oaying in coin boxes, e.g. vending machines, public telephones, with a possibility of change giving. An electromagnetic cash acceptor is installed at the lower end of a vertical storage shaft. The width of the latter (12) is a little less than twice the dia. of the coins concerned. The cash acceotor is formed from a forked piece (4) having two rods (5,6) extending into the shaft (12). The forked piece is rotatable about a spindle (3) connected to a pendant (1). A permanent magnet (2) is situated at the free end of the latter (1). This magnet (2) is movable between the cores (9,10) of two electromagnetcs. The spindle is in the middle between the rods (5,6).
