Blown material is charge-delivered via pref. cellular- wheel airlocks, and blown air is regulated by influencing the compressed or blown air volume ratio. The appts. is used to perform pneumatic backfilling in an underground mine. In the course of acceleration, attained by narrowing the cross-section and forming a venturi, air from outside is sucked in for the blown air current. Then, the cross-section of the air pipe widens giving a speed reduction, and the air is brought to the requisite pressure before entering the blowing machine. This may involve a mixing nozzle (11) in the supply duct.
