A tilting mounting for a vehicle seat has the support plinth (3) linked to plates (1) at each end with swivel mountings (4) to allow the seat to be tipped sideways and improve access inside the bus. The swivel mountings have cams (6) inside the plinth with the angles of the cams determined by holes (8) in the cams and pegs through the plinth. The mounting is secure and allows maximum support for normal use. During tipping the angle of the seat changes so that the whole assembly can be tipped further than with a rigid mounting.
