<p>The light from the instrument scale illumination is conducted from the rear part of the instrument housing to the scale dial face (3). The latter consists of a disc of light conductive material, carrying the symbols. Its peripheral edge region (17) with a colour coating, or foil (17a), to which is connected the light guide (7), pref. in the form of a tube. The annular base side of the tube is arranged for receiving a light flux, while a second base side of the tube transmits the light into the display chamber. Underneath the upper base side the tube forms a transition into a disc, with the colour coating or foil applied to its edge region and the dial face being mounted on top. The rest of the disc surface underneath the dial face is dark. Instead of the transition disc the tube may have an annular shoulder protruding over its periphery.</p> |
