In the magnetic support and guide system, a body is supported at right angles to the direction of motion. The moving body is mechanically stable. Any external forces are automatically corrected by counter magnetic forces to return the moving body to the stable position. It consists of a number of pairs of magnets with inclined pole faces in a stator. There is a flat moving body (2) with elongated prism-shaped column projections (4,6) on the small sides in the direction of motion. The surface of the casing of the projections is at an angle to the flat side of the moving body. The permanent magnets (17,23) are magnetised in the direction of their thickness and are arranged to produce repelling forces.
