<p>Method of and device for selecting a needle for a weft knitting machine which includes, in order to select one of knit, tack and welt positions for the needle, a needle selecting member (101) provided on one side of a lock (55) located on a carriage, the needle selecting member comprising an electromagnetic needle selecting actuator (68) and cams (58), (70) and (71), and another needle selecting member (102) provided on the other side of the lock (55) and comprising an electromagnetic needle selecting actuator (69) and cams (72) and (73), to thereby preliminarily select the needle by the needle selecting member (101) disposed at the rear side of the advancing direction of the carriage (the direction of an arrow A) so as to divide the needles into two groups and to further select the needle by the other needle selecting member (102) as preliminarily selected previously when the carriage reverses its direction of movement (the direction of an arrow B) so as to further divide the needles into two groups in order to thereby select one of the knit, tack and welt positions. </p> |
