The collector skin absorbs solar energy and/or is usable for space cooling. It comprises top and bottom strips of material (A,B), welded together in an offset pattern. Thus the top strip protrudes on one side and the bottom one on the other side. Individual elements can be welded together at the overlapping points (4,5), these being in the form of asymmetrical edge zones. The design allows easy installation on roofs by strips nailing or clamping etc., the strips forming passages between them through which the heat-transfer medium flows.
