<p>Device for distributing the electrolyte on the different elements (1) of bipolar plate cells and for discharging product from the electrolysis of said elements. It allows the connection in series of a plurality of bipolar cells (1) and the operation of the cells with a high electrolyte circulation without resulting in a substantial current loss by shunt currents and without the occurrence between the electrolyte and the metal parts of the electrolyser of potential differences which may lead to an electrolytic corrosion. For this purpose, the cells (1) are provided with double ringshaped pieces (9) made of electrically non-conductive material. These pieces are adjacent, the inner drilling thereof forming the distributor and collector channels of the electrolyte respectively for the electrolysis products, while being connected to the electrolysis chamber by off set drillings in the inner ring (11) respectively in the outer ring (12), so that the space (10) between the inner and the outer ring acts as a high resistance path in order to limit the electrical shunt currents. </p> |
