<p>A device to mix fluid media in motion without any moving parts consists of two cylindrical or polygonal vessels with a common centre line which are joined to each other by a plate with a central hole. The first vessel has a narrow tangential slot for the inflow of the two media. This creates a high-velocity circular motion. This continues at high velocity in the same direction in the second vessel as the fluids enter at the centre. They leave through a tangential slot in the second vessel. As the circular motion is decelerated in the second vessel, the kinetic energy is recovered and little energy is spent for the mixing process. No moving parts are needed so that the power consumption to generate the pressure loss is kept to a minimum.</p> |
