The locking elements are fastened on a vertical turning-rod, and controlled firstly by devices on each drawer, and secondly by a cylinder lock. The elements are used for locking or opening, on a chest of drawers, or writing desk, with a central locking system and mutual blocking gear. The turning-rod (6) is raisable and lowerable in the closing or opening positions, with its turning movement in the closing position blocked by a stop block (14) fitted to at least one drawer (1). It can be monolithically combined with control pins (16,17), for engagement by the cylinder lock eccentric (18), formed on at right angles. This is simple and compact, and easily installed.
