The mechanism is intended for taking up bulk material for pneumatic transport and can be suspended (lift eye 2) for discharging e.g. from a ships hold. It comprises rotary wings in entry cowls (6) at the bottom (5) and an entry chamber (12) to a pneumatic pressure transport system. At least one high-speed vertical transport worm (3) is arranged between the entry cowl (6) and the pressure chamber (12) and connects to that chamber via a non-return valve (14). There may be two such worms rotating in opposite directions, which may be removable from their drive motors (8) in downward direction for replacement.
