Set of points for linear motor vehicle rails - has excitation coils attached to rails before and after interruption zone

The rail system for a linear motor vehicle includes a set of points with two parallel return connection rails (1) on the main and branch lines. At the interrupted regions of the rails, are attached excitation coils (11 to 14). These are positioned at the outside rails (13,19) preceding the interruption and on both rails (11,12) following the interruption. The vehicle has a vertical side member each side of the rails, each carrying a magnet. These are constantly magnetised so that the excitation of the coils on the rails is maintained between zero and a max. value, or by constant magnetisation of the coils on the rails, the excitation of the magnet coils on the vehicle is maintained between zero and a max. value.
