Ore separation - by gravity in aq suspension using ferrosilicon

Gravity sepn. of solids using a dense liquid comprising water and ferrosilicon contg. 12-18 wt % finely ground Si powder, in which periodic addn. of ferrosilicon powder are made to compensate for loss wherein the particle size distribution is measured periodically and adjusted to bring it back to the initial size range. The method is esp. used for sepg. finely divided ores e.g. Fe, Zn, Pb from a liquid.
