PURPOSE: To lock a holder certainly by forming a shank so that its one end is left open and outside surface is tapered, boring the shank in two positions apart in the circumferential direction, and furnishing a slot for stopping rotation. CONSTITUTION: A rear cylindrical shank 16 of a tool holder 10 is formed in a taper and bored with at least two holes 18 apart in the circumferential direction. The holes 18 are provided at an angle of 50-60 deg. to the center line. Also the shank 16 is equipped with a slot 26 for stopping rotation. The tool holder 10 is inserted into a taper hole 48 in a tool supporting member 30 and locked by a lock element 32, wherein rotation is hindered when a key 54 is inserted in the slot 26. The element 32 is made spherical and is abutted with a slope 40 on a lock rod 34 of a stab 38 and an abutting surface 44 facing ahead of the hole 18 so that the tool supporting member 30 is put in pressure contact with the abutting surface 15 of the holder 10. The shank outer surface 52 behind the abutting surface 44 is expanded elastically and put in pressure contact with the hole 48 in the supporting member 30. |
