PURPOSE:To promote atomization of fuel, by disposing a ceramic heater having a positive resistance-temperature characteristic annularly at an intake manifold of a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:In a multi-cylinder engine E in which an intake manifold 12 connected to respective cylinders is disposed horizontally at a lower portion of a vertical intake pipe 14 having throttle valves lower portion of a vertical intake pipe 14 having throttle valves 18, 19, a heat transfer plate 4 constituting a riser wall is provided at the bottom of an intake-pipe concentrated section and an annular ceramic heater 1 having a positive resistance-temperature characteristic is disposed on the outside of heat transfer plate 4 in the manner that it is urged onto the heat transfer plate 4 by the force of a spring 7. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to heat mixture and to atomize the same effectively under the state that the atmospheric temperature is lower than a certain level. |
