<p>The fouling preventive compsn. comprises a homogeneous blend which consists of (a) a biological active coating polymer partially derived from a tri-organo stannous cpd. of formula: R3SnOOCr' and one or more ethylenic unsatd. cpd(s). copolymerisable with the tri-organo stannous cpd. in an amt. of 1-30 wt.% proportional to the total compsn., (b) a pigment contg. one or more metal component(s) in an amt. of 1-50 wt.% proportional to the compsn. and (c) an inert diluent in an amt. of 30 to 80 wt.% proportional to the total compsn. In the formula, R is alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl and R' is a polymerisable radical such as vinyl gp., (alpha)-methyl-vinyl gp. or phenyl-vinyl gp. The compsn. is used for coating ship surface to protect fouling with seaweed and shellfish.</p> |
