An apparatus for connecting at least two light tube members for forming light tube systems, comprises two identically constructed half shells 11 interconnected by snap or plug-in connections, each half shell having at least two semicircular openings, 12, 13, which, with the corresponding semicircular openings 14, 15 of the other half shell form circular openings. In the wall area of each semicircular opening a semicircular guide slot 20,21 is provided, each guide slot of one half shell forming with the corresponding semicircular guide slot 22,23 of the other half shell an annular guide slot 39,39a in which is arranged a swivel 30,31 which is freely rotatable about its central axis 30a,31a and can be locked in any position.
