<p>A bar stock feed arrangement for an automatic machine tool, in which a pusher rod (3), movable along the axis of a feed tube (6) to advance the bar stock (B), is supported by an annular collar (8). While the pusher rod (3) remains within the feed tube (6) the collar (8) is locked to the rod (3) by means of a ball and socket arrangement (9-11). To permit the pusher rod (3) to emerge from the feed tube (6) the locking action is removed, the collar (8) still assuming a supportive role at the end of the feed tube (6). Additional supportive means, in the form of split bushings (12, 13), and a sound damping arrangement are also described.</p> |
