PROCESS FOR REMOVING ACID GASES WITH HINDERED AMINES AND AMINO ACIDES

Acidic components are removed from gaseous mixtures by contacting the gaseous mixture with an aqueous solution comprising (1) a basic salt and (2) an activator for said basic salt comprising at least one sterically hindered amine and an aminoacid which is a cosolvent for the sterically hindered amines. The amonoacid serves to prevent phase separation of the aqueous solution at high temperatures and low fractional conversions during the contacting.
