Novel phenyl alkyl thioethers of the formula <IMAGE> in which R denotes hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, C1-C4-alkyl, C1-C3-alkoxy, C3-alkenyloxy, C3-alkenyloxy substituted by 1 or 2 chlorine atoms, C3-alkynyloxy, trifluoromethyl or nitro; R1 and R2 independently of one another denote hydrogen, methyl or ethyl; and n denotes one of the numbers 1 or 2; process for the preparation of these compounds and compositions containing them for use in combating pests, in particular for combating insects infesting plants and animals. The novel compounds have pronounced ovicidal/insecticidal activity. |
