<p>PURPOSE:A vacuum pump, hygrometer and pressure gauge are provided in a screw extruder in specific ways and the rotation of the screw is made variable to remove the moisture from the material completely, thus eliminating the drying step and permitting the stable operation of spinning. CONSTITUTION:A screw extruder is equipped with the material feed mechanism consisting of a stirring mixer 4 and a pusher 5 at the feed zone 1. Further, a vacuum pump and hygrometer 18 are equipped to the vent hole 17 at the first half part of the extruder and the vacuum pump 19 and hygrometer 18 are interlocked. Further, another vacuum pump 21 is connected to another vent hole 20 at the melt extrusion zone and a pressure gauge 23 is fitted to the fore part of the screen 22' which is equipped at the fore side of the extrusion zone to detect the extrusion pressure of the melted polymer. The pressure gauge 23 is interlocked with the screw-driving mechanism for the extruder so that the rotation of the screw 13 is automatically varied according to the extrusion pressure. Resultingly, the synthetic fiber waste fed is automatically dried in the latter half of the extruder and defoamed, thus stabilizing spinning.</p> |
