PURPOSE:To shorten the time required for heating and melting the residual ink and thereby increase the moving speed of a transfer master by irradiating infrared rays directly onto the residual ink on the transfer master. CONSTITUTION:The ink on a transfer master 11 is transferred onto a recording paper by a thermal head, and the residual ink 20 is heated and melted by infrared rays irradiated from an infrared ray lamp 21. Immediately on melting, the molten residual ink flows into an ink feed mechanism 13, mixe uniformly with the fresh ink 14 in an ink tank 15, and the mixture is coated on the transfer master 11 in a uniform thickness. Accordingly, the heat transmitting efficiency is improved and the heating time is reduced as compared with conventienal heating device utilizing a melting roller arranged on the back side of a transfer master. |
