The trunk-like frame houses a rechargeable battery (6), one or more loudspeakers (5) and electronic appts. (4) with its front panel (19) facing the inclined top face (1) of the reading table. The latter is made up of hinged structural elements (1,32,31) which can be folded so as to fit into the space behind the batteries (6) and the stepped cross section of the electronic equipment (4), that is to say, in its folded condition. The desk being a permanent part of the assembly, comes within the boundaries of the carrier frame. For protection against weather conditions a cover (35) may be placed over the frame, with a handle (34) protruding through it for easy transportation.
