Conveyor cable stretching oscillation damper - has booms at loading point giving adjustable braking action

The mechanism damps out cable stretching oscillations in shaft conveyors, particularly of the bucket type used in mines etc. At the loading point in the shaft and below the base are two or more braking booms (3) opposite the conveyor, generating an adjustable braking effect. The booms can be 2 to 2.5m. long and of variable width (6), accommodating the bottom end guide shoes (4) of the conveyor. They can be in the form of parallel beams (8), movable against the flanks (7) of the shoes, and actuated by eccentrics driven by a common lever mechanism.
