<p>The arm rest (11) is connected to the seat base (1) via a linkage (7,8) which permits the rest to be swivelled out of its support position. The linkage comprises two members which are pivoted to the base at (5,6) and to the arm rest at (9,10) to form a parallelogram linkage. One link arm (7) may be a tube, preferably of rectangular section, having the other link arm (8) arranged inside it. The rectangular arm may have a slotted bore engaged by the pivot pin (9) on the rest (11), and a latch bolt to locate this slot in one end position relative to the pivot pin.</p> |
