<p>The engine has two rotors (2,3) spaced axially along a shaft. A motor between them turns them in opposite directions. Each rotor consists of two hollow tubes diametrically opposite each other. Their outer ends are turned to face tangentially into the direction of rotation. Heavy balls (18) are flung out from these ends and travel in the direction of motion of the vehicle to be caught in funnels (21,22) which conduct them to an impact tube (19). Their kinetic energy is absorbed and transferred to the vehicle. They are then returned to the centre of the rotor by a magnetic system along a central tube (23).</p> |
