PURPOSE:To obtain photoconductive powder which has sufficient electrostatic adhesion power even to plain paper and is nevertheless able to form images of high image density and resolving power by providing a photoconductor layer of uniform thickness on the insulating cores comporising uniform fine particles. CONSTITUTION:A photoconductor layer 32 mixed with the electron donor of leuco base dyes is provided on insulating cores 31 of 10-30mu grain sizes mixed with the electron acceptor of leuco base dyes to provide photoconductive powder. For example, methacrylate ester, polymerization catalysts, demulsifier and bisphenol (electron acceptor of leuco base dyes) are charged into water and while the mixture is being stirred, it is polymerized at about 50-100 deg.C, whereby the insulating cores of about 10-30mu grain sizes are formed. Next, a xylene dispersion of zinc oxide powder of submicron grain sizes, rose bengale (dye sensitizer), silicone varnish and crystal violet lactone (electron donor of leuco base dyes) is sprayed on the above- mentioned insulating cores followed by drying, whereby the photoconductor layer of about 5-10mu thickness is formed. |
