New 6-acyloxy-1,3,5-cycloheptatriene-1-carboxylic acid derivs. are cpds. of formula (I) and their physiologically tolerable salts with inorganic and organic bases where R1 is opt. substd. alkyl, aryl, aralkyl or heteroaryl; and R2 is H or opt. substd. alkyl. (I) is prepd. by reacting a cpd. of formula (II) with R3-CO-O-OH (where R3 is opt. substd. alkyl or aryl). The reaction is carried out at 0-50 deg.C, opt. in the presence of inert organic solvents and/or acid binding agents. (I) have a highly specific antithrombotic action combined with good tolerance. They have no antipyretic or antiinflammatory activity.
