Retention packing (7) for connecting sleeved metal pipes consists of elastic flexible material, with inlaid metal segments (16), which have an electric potential, corresponding to the pipes' electric potential. When the pipes are fitted together, the segments (16), which have peripheral extensions, twist when a pair of edges (17,18) on the segments (16) grip onto the one pipe's pointed end (2) inside the pipe connection. Thereby a shoulder (19) opposite the edges is pressed to become electrically conducting and in mechanical contact with the other pipe's sleeve (1).The segment enables transfer of sound as well as electricity between the pipes comprising the pipeline.<IMAGE> |
