At the outer edge of a segment form blade, pointed triangular teeth are divided by radial slits which extend only to the foot of each tooth. At least two triangular tooth sections with much slimmer points than the original teeth are formed by one or more radial slits. The teeth are, as normally, set outwards to opposite sides of the plane of the blade. A longer central tooth may be inclined to one side whilst the two shorter teeth of the group of three are inclined to the other side or one is left in the central plane. The assembly of the blades on a cylindrical cutter makes it possible to produce a finely roughened surface on the rubber side walls of a tyre, without raising its temperature appreciably.
|
