The fitting (11) is used to connect cladding sections (1, 2) on a steeply pitched ridged roof, facilitating the end-to-end connection of reciprocally mitred section ends at the ridge, and adjusting to different ridge angles. A vertically elongated spacer plate (12) has an approx. rectangular shape with equal triangular areas cut away from each corner. The inclined corner edges subtend an angle of some 130 deg. with horizontal top (13) and bottom (14) edges of a nominal length, and integral double cantilever straps (15-18) affix to each of these latter edges. The straps pivot about the top plate angles to suit the required roof pitch, being e.g. rivetted to section flange (5, 6, 8, 9). When the fitting is initially fabricated the straps may lie in the same plane as the plate (12), being folded about the edges (13, 14) until perpendicular to plate, and being nominally tapered.
|
