<p>1-(3,4,5-Trimethoxybenzyl)-4-phenylpiperazines of formula (I) and their acid-addn. salts are new. In (I), R1 is CF3, OH, NO2, halogen, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy, R2 is H, CF3, halogen, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy, and R3 is H or lower alkoxy, or R1, R2 or R1+R3 is lower alkylenedioxy. (I) are circulatory stimulants, giving greater redn. in cerebrovascular resistance than cinnarizine and having a better therapeutic index. 19 Cpds. (I), including 1-(3,4,5-trimethoxybenzyl)-4-Ar -piperazines where Ar is 2-methylphenyl, 3-methoxyphenyl, 2-nitrophenyl or 4-hydroxyphenyl are specifically claimed.</p> |
