PURPOSE:To improve services to subscribers, to reduce ineffective traffic and to improve a call completion rate by receiving information on an originating subscriber by a picture terminal through the operation of a terminating-subscriber's control circuit. CONSTITUTION:When subscriber C is to make a telephone call to B, who is engaged with subscriber A, a connection between telephone terminal 1 of subscriber C and picture terminal 2 of subscriber B is made. At this time, answering circuit 7 is actuated by control circuit 8 of subscriber B to inform subscriber C of whether communication is possible or not through the picture terminal. Subscriber C changes the terminal over to terminal 2 to sent a message. When subscriber B is in absence, it is made possible to obtain the busy state of terminal 1 previously or the connection state of terminal 2 a certain time later. Consequently, the originating subscriber can know the absence of subscriber B by incoming to terminal 2 and then send a fixed message. |
