1. Process for the purification of 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene, characterised in that a homogeneous solution is formed comprising from 7 to 30% by weight of 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene to be purified, from 50 to 80% by weight of sulfuric acid and from 10 to 28% by weight of sulfuric anhydride, then the separation of the 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene is effected and the 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene is recovered in purified form in the solid state.
