The moulding of the tread strip of the tyre consists of two lateral series of separate bars (8) very widely spaced-apart circumferentially and each extending over approximately half the tread strip and comprising, under the tread strip, elements for reinforcing the top of the tyre. The reinforcement elements (10.131-17-18) for the top are exclusively or mainly located in the spaced-apart lateral parts of the top (3) so that the central part (A) of the top has greater radial flexibility than the thus reinforced side parts. These tyres are intended to equip the drive wheels of vehicles usually used on soft ground.
