A hydroponic cultivation system wherein growing plants are fed through two environments, namely one in which nutrient fluid is fed to the plant roots along a transport system such as capillary matting and another in which the roots are at least partially immersed in nutrient fluid, thereby providing an oxygen- rich and a nutrient-rich feed for the plants.
