An anti-tussive or anti-thrombotic composition comprising a pharmaceutical composition comprising a physiologically acceptable carrier and an effective amount of at least one therapeutically active compound selected from 1, 2, 9, 10-tetrahydroxyaporphine and glaucine containing 1glaucine, and the physiologically acceptable salts and quaternaty N-alkyl-ammonium derivatives of such compounds.
