The rotary milking parlour has an in-gate and an out-gate for the cows who move into obliquely orientated peripheral separators, around a central circular, rotary platform which supports a number of similar milk metering glasses (26) with a valve (I1,I2) at the inlet (27) and outlet (25) ends. The valves are opened and closed by electrically powered actuators (D1,D2) with a common line connection and the other terminal connected to a double pole switch (L). The fixed switch contacts are connected to opposite contacts (a2) of a relay (A), the common relay contact being connected to a d.c. power source (22). The relay coil (A) is itself energised by a separate contact (G) which is opened when a cow is 'out' of a stall. When a cow is 'in', the second contact (a1) is closed when the milking equipment is attached to the cow, and the aforementioned third contact (a2) operates only during the actual milking process.
|
