NEW MATERIAL:A (4-phenylpiperazinyl) alkoxy anilide derivative of formula I (R<1> is formyl, lower alkanoyl or benzoyl; R<2> is halogen, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy; n is an integer 2-6; m is 0 or an integer 1-3). EXAMPLE:3-[3-(4-phenylpiperazinyl)propoxy]-formanilide. USE:Useful as a medicine having analgesic, anti-inflammatory and hypotensive actions and as a preanesthetic medication, a sleep inducer, an analgesic, an antischizophrenic and an antihistaminic agents. PROCESS:A compound of formula II is reacted with a compound of the formula X<1>(CH2)nX<2> (X<1> and X<2> are halogens), preferably in the presence of a basic compound as a dehydrohalogenating agent, in a solvent, e.g. methanol, at room temperature -200 deg.C, preferably 50-150 deg.C, to give a compound of formula III, which is reacted with a compound of formula IV to afford the compound of formula I. |
